The two-year appointment of the Columbia University Orchestra has ended.  The final rehearsal, a massive sight-reading session on the 30th of April, ended with the concluding D-major chord of Sibelius 2nd Symphony.  That last chord ended the year-long music making, but also signaled the official end of my time with CUO for the past two years.

Last Tuesday was the first Tuesday in a very long time that I did not have to go out in the evening.  It was a strange sensation.  Of course, I did not let myself be idle for that evening.  Quite the contrary; I have been devoting my entire time composing, trying to meet the deadline for the Asko|Schönberg Ensemble.
